My favourite way to eat tofu, which is the highest praise I could give!

I (controversially?) am not a fan of pressing tofu, I just don’t have the patience for that. So this recipe, uses the natural wetness (ew haha) of the tofu to hold onto lots of coating, ensuring a perfect crispy tofu! This tofu is seriously a crowd pleaser, I have converted many tofu skeptics to fans with this recipe!
| Time: | 15 minutes | Serving size: | 1 – 2 servings |
Ingredients:
- 1/2 block firm/extra-firm tofu
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- Salt to taste
- Optional: chili powder / cumin / 5-spice / nutritional yeast

Directions:
- Cut tofu into 1 cm (1/4ish inch) thick slabs
- Mix flour, cornstarch, sesame seeds, salt, seasonings of choice together and spread on plate
- Heat pan over medium-high heat with a drizzle of your oil of choice
- If tofu is dry (more likely if you are using extra firm tofu) dip in water and then place on plate, flipping to ensure tofu is well coated in cornstarch mixture.
- Place tofu in pan, flipping once golden brown (roughly 3-5 min)
- Allow to cool slightly on wire rack.
- Enjoy 😊 !
