Chili Oil

My favourite condiment!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c neutral oil
  • 2 tbsp Sichuan chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Optional
    • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
    • 2 cloves minced garlic
    • 1 minced scallion

Directions:

  1. Add chili flakes and any other flavourings to heat-safe bowl
  2. Heat oil in saucepan, to test wwhen it is done, stick in a wooden utensil, if you see bubbles you’re good to go!
  3. Pour hot oil into bowl with chili flakes and enjoy the sizzle. Transfer to a jar and store as long as you want.
